- Support general practitioners to meet the challenges of the changing health environment.
- Encourage networking of general practitioners with: health care workers, local hospitals, non-government organisations, consumer groups and government agencies, both State and Commonwealth.
- Aim to improve patient health outcomes through reduced fragmentation of care.
- Provide a voice for general practitioners in health policy and planning, locally, Statewide and nationally.
- Assist general practitioners to take up new initiatives in areas such as immunisation, information management, mental health, diabetes and cardiovascular health and GP obstetric shared care.
